Intro to Photography: Telling Stories Through the Lens (July 19)
Time: 10:15 AM – 2:15 PM | Ages 17 and up | $45
Taught by Drew Kimble of 12Eighty One, this introductory photography class is designed to help you move beyond auto mode and into the creative possibilities of manual shooting. You’ll learn how to confidently use your camera’s manual settings—including shutter speed, aperture, and ISO—while exploring essential elements like composition, lighting, and perspective. Along the way, Drew will guide you in finding narrative within the abstract, helping you see the world through a more intentional and artistic lens. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your skills, this class will give you the tools to tell your story through the camera.
Students should bring their own camera. Spiva Center for the Arts has a small quantity of cameras that can be loaned during the duration of the class. Please contact Spiva’s Education Director, Des Hernandez, at dhernandez@spiva.sites.limelightmarketing.com if you are interested in a camera loan.
Sign ups will close Thursday, July 17th, at 11:30 pm.
